Tips on Your New Career in Permanent Makeup
Good Things to Know When You First Start Your New Career in Permanent Makeup
It can be a bit overwhelming when you start any career, it is especially so when it comes to tattooing someone’s face! The top curiosity of new students or prospective students is whether they will feel ready to start working on clients immediately finishing the training. This will vary from student to student, some will feel fully confident and ready to start, where others may take a few extra weeks of practice. The more practice the better! It is impossible to master and feel knowledgeable after only a few day course.
With shaping what will be tattooed (especially eyebrows) it is important to practice mapping, measuring and shaping on whoever will let you. Anytime a friend or family member came over you bet I was putting string and makeup all over their faces to tune my technique. Doing this on as many different people as possible before starting to work with real clients will really help your confidence. As you start on your live clients for the first few times on your own it will be a bit nerve-wracking. The best thing you can do for your nerves is prepare with practice. Honestly, you should feel a bit nervous! It is a big deal to tattoo someone’s face altering their appearance. So my number one tip that I have for students currently and students of the future is to continue to practice! You are the one in control of your success now! Success takes determination and persistence.
